In Maryland, Judges are generally appointed by the Governor after undergoing an extensive round of interviews, application process and seeking the endorsement of various bar associations. After this process, they must stand for election. This year, four Judges are seeking to retain their positions, as well as one individual who has not been appointed as a Judge.
