Has anyone checked out the Maryland health care exchange yet? For many of my divorcing clients, health coverage is a HUGE concern. I figured that was not going to be an appealing option for my family as we have been covered for several years under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, but I wanted to see some numbers anyway. The cheapest plan was $145 per month for one person, but with a $4000 deductible, that's not much of a plan, more like what I would term catastrophic coverage. Hopefully people will carefully consider their options. It would really be unfortunate to pay $145 a month (or more) and still end up with a "medical bankruptcy." There are "holes" or "exclusions" under pretty much every plan, and buyers need to choose carefully.
