Today, local WTOP news reported about a man who agreed to wear a sign identifying himself as a cheater. He is doing this at the request of his wife, it seems extremely unlikely that a judge would have ordered him to do so! In Maryland, adultery is still a crime, albeit one that is typically not prosecuted. As a result, it is common to invoke the 5th amendment protection against self-incrimination if a cheating spouse is asked about infidelity in discovery or at trial. In other words, once you are getting into divorce court, spouses tend to do the exact opposite of this man.
